Following on from The Feathered Crown and the fourth novel in the South Sea Series our heroes find themselves entangled in a vicious battle for survival in the Cannibal Islands of Fiji. 

Jarvis Stewart was never going down with his ship despite the threats and delusions of the despot Captain Clemson. He would become 'The King of Stewart Island" before he became food for the fishes.

Whilst in the Maori village of Kororareka in the Bay of Islands our Colonials, Daniel, Moodgee & Sally begin their quest to sell their fortune in whale oil in Sydney Town but the ocean is a dangerous place filled with Spanish Privateers and ferocious Islanders. On their voyage to Fiji they are set upon by Napoleon’s corsairs.

As the ocean gods would have it, Captain Clemson, survives the ship wreck and washes up on Stewart Island. Jarvis is forced to save the very man that cast his crew into hell.

When Jarvis Stewart rescues the beautiful Salote and her little brother from the cooking fires of the Rewan invaders he never imaged that romance would find him on this island prison.

Jarvis needs to return Salote to her people and survive the wrath of the giant Prince who was to marry her. His courage, his guns and steel must win over the warriors of the Lau Nation.

At the same time Daniel and his band of survivors escape the murderous clutches of the Spanish Man-of-War but their fortune is stolen and their future looks bleak.

These desperate castaways find one another in this savage sea and use their Fijian allies to defeat the Spanish and reclaim their ship and the fortune in its belly. Their smarts, alliances and their fighting skills will see them overcome incredible odds and finally return incredibly wealthy to civilisation.
